Okay so usually I have this thing for designing with dark colors, and I have been fighting the urge for the past few days and trying to get some bright colors into my layouts to switch it up a bit : P So this is TAIYOU, which means (if I’m not mistaken) ‘Sunset’ in Japanese. If you know your way around code, you can easily add as many custom links on the side as you’d like. The permalink appears when you hover over an entry, and the sidebar once hovered upon also has a drop down description.

Probably should’ve gone to bed instead of staying up and finish coding this. It’s just that once I get started, I just keep going until I finish. I’ll probably code a matching page design for this too (I have a couple ideas in mind). I added a lot more options for this theme as well (compared to the last 3), such as post size and fade image choices, to make up for the lack of customizable backgrounds. I am quite pleased with how this turned out. Enjoy!

this is my first theme, and it’s based on my favourite thing; firefly! if you’d like to take this theme, it’d really mean lots if you liked or reblogged, but of course i won’t track you down if you don’t.

rules:

no recreating or using as base. also, please don’t remove the credit. this theme took a long time to make, so i’d appreciate it.

features:

• sidebar image: 200px by 200px (read below)
• subtitle option
• three links, but obviously you can add more

the sidebar image has to be square, rectangular images may become squished. a black and white image looks best with the default settings, but you can always change things around ect. if you do want a rectangular image, find ‘#sidebar img’ in the html and remove ‘height: 200px;’. if you need any help, please don’t hesitate to ask.

This theme doesn’t have many special options, and it’s limited in flexibility, so helping with custom changes will not happen with this theme. It does not have infinite scrolling, because infinite scrolling doesn’t work. It can only have 400px posts, and I will not help make them bigger or smaller. The sidebar image must be 235px in width, 180px in height, otherwise it’ll just be shrunk and stretched to fit that span.

God, I am on FIRE! I’ve made a theme each day for 3 consecutive days already (technically I made 1.5 themes today)! The hardest part was actually the black bar on the right of the posts, I had the idea down in my head but using CSS/HTML to achieve was rather hard because the height effect (in comparison to the content posts / white blocks) wasn’t simple, I had to use negative margins and tables in order to achieve it. I’m proud of myself for figuring that out, that, by itself, probably took about a whole gosh darn hour.

I personally think this theme is great for text posts or blogs that post a variety of media. The title means “daydream” or “fantasy” in Spanish.
